happy rosé in the rain happy hour!
Rosé isn’t just for sunny days. You can have it whenever (even in winter, but thankfully we are not in the Season of Hell and we are in fact in Season of Joy even if it’s been rainy). Love this frosty glass, which looks like it has a heart in it, which is appropriate. This is … Continue reading
the official world cup wine
Brazil isn’t known for their wine (more cachaça cocktails), but don’t let that stop grapefriends from getting into the futbol spirit. There isn’t just one but three official World Cup wines. Lidio Carraro launched a line called Faces, and gets to put the official FIFA seal on the bottles and serve them at the World Cup. The winery is based in Serra … Continue reading

Albariño of the day: Pazo Señorans 2013
Did a vertical tasting at Pazo Señorans, an absolutely gorgeous winery built in the 14th century in Rias Baixas. It’s always great to taste the same wine from different years side by side to really see the nuances. And with Albariño, it’s a rare thing since most is drunk young. That said, we’ve had a … Continue reading
Albariño of the day: Señor da Folla Verde
We’ve had a lot of Albariño here in Rias Baixas, and it’s been interesting to try different styles. This Señor da Folla Verde is a blend of 70% Albariño, 15% Loureira, and 15% Treixadura. Yellow and green apple with tons of white floral. So pretty! And, was fantastic with our piping hot gambas al ajillo. … Continue reading
