Brat: Went here last time I was in London and didn’t like it. Luckily I gave it another shot because everything was insane this time around. Gargantuan toasted bread with whipped butter, grilled scallops with seaweed oil, oysters (don’t know what they did to them but so good). I started with a glass of Leclerc Briant Champagne (oyster match perfection) and then a silky, earthy Caroline Morey Santenay Pinot from Burgundy for the pink trout with roe.  

Shoreditch Wine House: Killer wine list. We had a light and lemony Assyrtiko that went fantastically with our cheese and charcuterie. 

Southwark Tavern: Great spritz menu for happy hour in the bustling Borough Market. They happened to be out of Campari (!!) which is my go-to spritz, so our group got some summery rosé/vodka/lemon spritzes with dried raspberries.
