Made with real cheese, Wine Chips are really cheesy. It’s almost like eating a slice of cheese on a potato chip – so basically, better than eating cheese! They’re specifically created to pair with wine, so great fun for happy hour. Here’s what they recommend to go with each variety:
- Asiago: They say this pairs well with fruity wines and recommend Pinot Grigio. I didn’t have any and don’t think of that as the fruitiest wine around anyway, but I highly recommend it with a slightly frizzy Vinho Verde, and of course you can’t go wrong with the genius of potato chips + Champagne either.
- Manchego: They recommend rosé with this mildly salty cheese and I’d agree with that pairing!
- Smoked Gouda: They said to have Cab with this sweet/salty one, and I thought it was good with the smokiness but could’ve also seen a Rhône Syrah.
- Blue Cheese: Balancing strength and sweetness, they recommended Sauvignon Blanc, but I think that’s too mild. The classic pairing is Sauternes, a sweet wine that counters the gritty vein of blue cheese. I could also see a Cab Franc working well.
