We’ve made it all the way to the #1 rosé of the summer: Chateau d’Oupia!
Man, this is a KILLER rosé! Absolute perfect balance of fresh strawberry and raspberry juice with an excellent nerve of minerality.
So I’m sampling and sipping away and thinking this is probably in the $20 or even $30 range. But it’s only $13.99 (check it here)! Bring on the cases!!!
I haven’t had a ton of rosés from Minervois, a region within Languedoc which borders Provence. But they actually produce a lot of rosé: In 2013, Languedoc-Roussillon made 32% of all French rosé, which makes it the largest producer of rose in a geographical indication. The rosés there are primarily made with Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault – all great grows for rosé.
Will be having a LOT more of them. Pink perfection!
