It’ll be a month. You need quick, affordable wine. We also need to remember to celebrate. Grapefriend’s got it all.

values
Ritual Sauvignon Blanc 2018: Chile is a fantastic source of value wines – packed with flavor and so affordable. Love the piquant lemon on this organic Ritual (and btw, this pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe recipe was amazing). $19.99
Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc: While we’re on Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, also had this one which was incredibly light, almost aperitif-style, tart lemon spritz. Can NOT go wrong at $10.99
Morgan Double L Riesling: Very dry yet full of lush apricot and a light vein of petrol. $19.99
Planeta Cerasuolo: Continuing my chilled red series, this one was 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato with great wild strawberry and an herbal note. Chill it! $18.99
Luli Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2017: Such a great lemony note that saves it from drowning in apple and oak like so many other CA Chardonnays. $22
Saint Gayan Gigondas Cuvée: Spicy, earthy black cherry. Gigondas is near Chateaneuf du Pape and much more affordable. $27.99
Emile Beyer Tradition Pinot Gris: Honeyed yellow peach and ripe golden apple with a touch of warm cinnamon. $19.99
Splurges
- Zind-Humbrecht Riesling 2018: Alsace does it again. All of the deliciousness of a baked apple and touch of lychee with none of the sweetness. If you want to explore dry Riesling, this is an excellent place to start. $31.99
- La Perriere Sancerre: Fresh white florals with lemon and orange blossom. $39.99
