The royal baby might be ready for a bottle with a plastic tip, but everyone else is getting out quite a different kind of bottle. If they have any wine left over from Harry and Meghan’s wedding, then maybe they’ll pop open one of these to celebrate the latest wee royal!
- Champagne: One of the Champagne houses with a royal warrant, Pol Roger was served at the reception and also served at William and Kate’s wedding.
- For their white wine, they served the 2016 Olivier Leflaive Les Setilles Bourgogne Blanc, which is 100% Chardonnay from the villages by the more-amazing Puligny and Meursault. I have to say if I were at a royal wedding and they served a $25 wine I’d be pretty disappointed! I mean, come on bust out the great stuff! But it’s a great value for us commoners.
- For the red, they had Domaine Eden Pinot Noir from the Santa Cruz Mountains, an area which produces Pinots a bit more on the rugged side but to much acclaim. This one is about $40.
