producer: Talley Vineyards. They started out planted vegetables in 1948 in Arroyo Grande (near Edna Valley), and then (luckily for us) planted vines in 1982. They make great restrained wines, unlike lots of big. fruity California ones.
country: USA
region: Arroyo Grande Valley, CA
year: 2011
yum factors: Had a bunch of their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs last weekend and loved this Pinot from their Rincon Vineyard the best. Cranberry, mineral, and a little bit of button mushroom. Loved it.
food pairing: We had it with this mini croque monsieur at Bar Boulud, which was one of the absolute hands-down best croque monsieurs I’ve ever had. Run don’t walk.
price: $60

I’m particular about my pinot. I don’t like most of them. But I’m putting this one on my to-try list!
Let me know what you think!
