We’ve been doing this for the past few months to celebrate the small things during Covid, namely just getting through another week. But now things are looking brighter and it’s officially summer, when every day is like a bubbly glass of goodness. So this will be our last month of Champagne Friday, but we’ll still be popping sparkling wine from this divine region in the future. Here are my last few recommendations for when you do the same.
Perrier-Jouët Blason rosé: Beautiful florals, and 50% Pinot Noir adds strawberry notes and some heft. We had this at happy hour on Mother’s Day and it was excellent with the diverse foods in the picnic spread. $80
Boizel Brut Reserve: Fleshy yellow apple and fresh almond, with a refreshingly light brioche note. $45
Vollereaux Brut Reserve: Very simple and light with small, gentle bubbles, but you can find this at more affordable prices than most Champagnes which makes it a nice entry point. $38
