If we were just going by the wines they produce, obv SF would take this hands down. (Though Kansas does have 52 wineries, FYI.) The mayors of San Francisco and Kansas City have made their Super Bowl bets to each other, with the loser having to come to the winning team’s city and eat some local favorite foods. San Francisco Mayor London Breed said, “And of course I threw in some beer, because it’s football.” Oh boy.
For her San Francisco garlic noodles and crab, she should’ve thrown in some Gruner, which is excellent with crab and would be refreshing with the garlic noodles. Try the green apple and white peppery Domaine Wachau, $16.
For KC’s bet of BBQ ribs, I’d go with a juicy Zin which is great with sweet, heavy BBQ sauce. Try the lush and jammy Seghesio Cortina Zin, $47.
