And for those of you who want to keep the party going all August long, here are a few rosés I loved lately:
Chateau Peyrassol Rosé: Incredible how much flavor this has for such a pale pink. Tons of Mandarin orange and zesty pink grapefruit with a crazy long finish. Peyrassol isn’t your typical Provençal — this one’s $40 but worth it.
André Brunel Vins de Pays Rosé: From the Rhône Valley, this blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Cinsault delivers lots of minerally cherry. $17
Rumor: Very lush texture like papaya, but just in mouthfeel not in flavor which is red cherry, orange peel, and strawberry jam from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Vermentino. $30
Chateau La Mascaronne: And last, NBA star Tony Parker was one of the carriers of the torch before games began. He’s a partner in this Provence winery who makes a great rosé from Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Rolle. $24
