Among a million other things, my dad taught me how to love wine. Most specifically, how to love Burgundy. He’s partial to the reds, which are made from Pinot Noir, and his favorite is Gevrey-Chambertin. We’re also big fans of the whites, which many people are surprised to find out are all made from Chardonnay. But white Burgundy’s a world of difference from the oaky California style of Chardonnay – it’s elegant, complex, silky, layered and almost always very mind-blowing. I love a lot of whites, but white Burgundy is by far my favorite.
Happy Father’s Day, D!!!! Grapefriend (both the website and me) wouldn’t exist without you!
